4. Nature of CICAFFI’s services

CICAFFI carries out advisory, structuring, Shari’ah compliance certification, audit, and training activities in Islamic finance.

The opinions and certifications issued by CICAFFI are independent, private assessments of the compliance of a product, contract, or transaction with the principles of Islamic finance, within the scope defined for each engagement.

They do not constitute:

  • an approval or authorisation issued by a public authority,
  • a validation by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF),
  • a validation by the Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR),
  • a guarantee of return or financial performance,
  • a guarantee against the risk of capital loss,
  • a personalised investment recommendation.

Certification rests on the documents, information, mechanisms, and operating conditions communicated to CICAFFI at the time of the examination. Its continuation may be subject to periodic audits and to ongoing compliance with the conditions under which it was issued.
